Ride safe, ride more
Riders must comply with track marshals’ instructions at all times. Here’s the kit you must wear and the flags you need to know.
Riding kit – must be worn
All participants must wear this minimum level of riding kit during any riding activity.
Helmet
ACU Gold stamped, properly fitting safety helmet (white stamp for auto riders).
Goggles
Goggles or protective safety glasses – not sunglasses.
Boots
Boots which cover the ankle, ideally without external laces.
Gloves
Gloves must be worn at all times on track.
Clothing
Covering arms and legs with no skin exposed. No shorts or T-shirts on track.
Strongly advised: body armour
Body armour, including chest and back protection, is strongly advised.
Marshals’ flags
Know these before you ride. Marshals’ instructions must be followed at all times.
Red flag
Stop immediately! Do not continue riding around the track.
Yellow flag
Proceed with caution. Reduce your speed and continue around the track with caution.
A flashing yellow beacon means the same as a yellow flag.
Chequered flag
End of session. Leave the track at the designated place. Do not continue on the track beyond the flag.
Rider responsibility
J4M54 does not test the skill of individual participants, nor does J4M54 licence or judge riders’ competence. Participants are solely responsible for their own safety.
Riding at J4M54 does not imply that a rider has been trained, tested or certified to have achieved any level of competence in the operation of their machine. Participants are solely responsible for the condition of their machine and personal riding equipment.
J4M54 has the authority to prevent the use of any machine or equipment that we do not think is satisfactory.
